By far the most generous and thoughtful welcome basket from an airbnb host. Teas, homemade jam and marmalade, homemade bread, scones and cakes, clotted cream, local butter, eggs and milk from the farm, local ales and non alcoholic drinks, a personalised welcome card. Absolutely delightful place.
We have had a wonderful stay here. The house was set in the most relaxing beautiful location and had everything that you could need! The added bonus of a tree swing for the children and two very attentive dogs to play fetch with was brilliant. Well worth it. Lots to see locally too. Thank you so much Louise. We feel so lucky to have found your place to stay! You made us feel so welcome and the cake was delicious. The children would love to come and play with Sam again soon! Wow! Wow! Wow! We spent the most fabulous Christmas at the Red Linhay. We were given a wonderful welcome by Louise (and Marmite & Sam, the farm dogs). The linhay was lovely and warm with radiators in all the rooms but they had already lit the log burner for us too. The building has been beautifully converted, was lovely and clean throughout and had everything we required to cook and serve our extensive Christmas meals. We felt very comfortable within a couple of hours of our arrival. Nothing seemed too much from requests made prior to our stay to our leaving. They even spent a couple of hours after dark on Christmas Eve sorting out the wifi. The location is awesome too, just on the edge of Exmoor. Great for walks. We were allowed to wander around the farm and were shown into the barns to see the cows and their calves. Really I can’t praise this place enough.We will be returning. Sally, Matt and I had the most memorable Christmas staying in the Red Linhay. You have created a lovely cottage out of the converted barn. Everything we required was available. But I must mention your wonderful welcome basket, table arrangement and the most delicious Yule log. On the second day we had it slightly warmed with some clotted cream. Also your dedication in ensuring we had contact with the outside world by sorting the wifi problem. Thank you again for the most amazing location, we left saying that we’ll have to visit again. What a fantastic stay at the Red Linhay! Comfortable accommodation with everything thought out- from the local produce hamper (including Louise’s home baking!) to the picturesque views from such a peaceful location. And the riding!! Louise led every route to match our horses fitness and our capability- taking great care to check in with us at all stages! Great local eateries and interesting local places to visit- we particularly enjoyed Lynton and Porlock Weir. Thank you for a brilliant time- we will be back! July 2024

Exmoor is our favourite destination for holidays.
We stayed a few places over years but Red Linhay at Hollacombe Farm is the place we would love to go back again.
Quiet, peaceful and a lovely view from living & dining area.
During the last stay in May, we enjoyed looking at many wild birds flying back & forward from trees to bird feeders in front of the window. It is easy to see how much care the owner is taking to look after the wild life.
The cottage is surrounded by “living hedge” hosting a variety of wild flowers. During our stay, many swifts were noisily flying around one of the owner’s barns for nesting.
It’s such a special place to spend time, feeling relaxed and rested.

We had such a wonderful time in Devon and Exmoor. Our host and hostess were so kind to provide provisions upon our arrival. We enjoyed walking on the farm and even got to see some cows and horses. Our kids loved the resident dog and the playground in the backyard. I just loved the view — it is breathtaking. It is well-situated for access to Exmoor, where we were so impressed by every hike we took. It is so beautiful. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

A lovely 5 night stay at The Red Lindhay with the three kids (18 months, 7 and 10) The cottage was clean and well equipped. All the useful bits and bobs for travelling with a toddler (highchair/stairgate/plates/cot) and kids loved the play equipment and WiFi!!
